The art defined

I consider it important that my works generate dialogue about global, social, intra- and interpersonal situations and crises that require acceptance of ourselves and others to resolve.

The depiction and processing of uncomfortable or provocative subjects formed the basis of my diploma thesis and still interest me to this day.

Inspired by Warhol

I find important the kind of legacy that Warhol’s work represents for me, that the gradual change that comes through repetition, the belief in the triumph of the everyday, is a form of rebellion that gives creation a real creative force.

The experimental approach and the constant reinterpretation of everyday objects and iconography of mass culture, as well as the sometimes grotesque, critical portrayal of youth and the beauty fetish are for me the most important markers of Warhol’s social and contemporary outlook, and in this I feel many parallels between Warhol and my own work. His work is characterised by being composed yet natural; bold, instinctive, yet meticulous and precise; superficial, yet composed of infinitely meaningful parts and wholes. I believe that this beautiful complexity, a critique of capitalism disguised as a commodity fetish, a respect for the everyday and for the individual who thinks of and creates about social conditions and social inequalities, is a decisive source of inspiration for me.

Tiger-mood

When creating my work for Absolut Warhol: The Other Half concept, my aim was to create a turbulent fairytale world, using elements that are repetitive yet constantly changing. In creating the work, I used multi-layered stencils and hand-drawn sketches, which I had previously created on canvas. I then blended these motifs with digital elements, distorted blobs and rasters, using artificial intelligence.

The main character of the story world is the tiger as a symbol of rebellion, creativity and dignity.

Draculage

Exploitation of ourselves and each other is as mind-destroying and toxic as the anthropocene consumption of our environmental assets.

Let’s get Dubai!

Public domination of social networking sites is still a surprisingly natural pastime for a narrow social group, while a much wider stratum goes without a visible presence in their daily lives.

No Poblem!

The impacts of global climate change affect people on different continents differently in time and space. Some people have been experiencing the daily lack of rain and thus water for decades, while others do not understand the environmental impact of using certain crop protection products or even the fascination with fast fashion.
