The art defined
The pieces capture the paradox of vitality and decay, representing how even the most life-affirming elements are subject to the passing of time.
Inspired by Warhol
Warhol’s use of repetition, especially in his silkscreen prints of celebrities or consumer goods, mirrors the idea of the eternal loop. Each repeated image is a re-creation, yet as the prints are repeated, they lose originality and individuality, symbolizing decay. This mirrors the eternal cycle where something is created, becomes commodified or consumed, and eventually fades into obscurity or death—only to be re-created in a different form.
Begin, Decay, Repeat
I created a piece exploring an alien mineral elixir, blending Warhol-inspired strokes with AI hyperrealism and themes of time, decay, and renewal. At its centre is a translucent, amorphous vessel resembling a floating cluster of crystals, morphing in perpetual flux. Dynamic painterly strokes, luminous and fluid, dance across its surface, evoking shimmering minerals. The sculpture transitions through a cycle—starting pristine and glowing, then fragmenting and fading—echoing the inevitable decay of even life-affirming elements. This transformation represents the eternal loop of creation and decay, mirroring the elixir’s life-sustaining, yet fleeting, nature.
