WATCH: How to Make Warhol’s Milk Punch
The most anticipated vodka launch of the year is now here! That’s right, on July 1, the 2024 Absolut Warhol limited-edition bottle was unveiled to the world.
To celebrate this momentous occasion and collaboration, we’re going to show you how to make Warhol’s Milk Punch – an original recipe that would’ve been fit for Andy Warhol himself.
You can read more about the 2024 Absolut Warhol limited-edition bottle and the collaboration between The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Absolut Vodka here.
Before we dive into the recipe, let’s take a quick a look at the history between Andy Warhol and Absolut Vodka, shall we? After allegedly spotting a bottle of Absolut Vodka in a bar in New York and being seduced by its apothecary-inspired bottle, Warhol went on to create his own personal, artistic interpretation of the Absolut bottle silhouette as part of the Absolut Art campaign in 1985. Today, the original silk-screen painting ‘Absolut Warhol’ is considered iconic.
A second Warhol painting was rumored to exist but remained overlooked until Warhol’s Absolut ‘Blue’ painting was rediscovered in 2020. And that brings us today. In collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Absolut is celebrating the rediscovered Warhol painting by using the bottle as a canvas to reignite the original collaboration, championing how the power of mixing people, ideas and identities through creativity can challenge convention.
Now, back to Warhol’s Milk Punch. To show you how to make this delicious and oh-so-decadent cocktail, we’ve put together a very special video episode of ‘Absolut Drinks with Rico’, where Rico shows you how to make Warhol’s Milk Punch from scratch. You’re gonna love this one!
This specially curated cocktail is inspired by Andy Warhol’s infamous sweet tooth. As Rico shares in the video, when creating this drink, he researched Warhol’s diet and what flavors he liked. Rumor says Andy Warhol was known to love cereal, bananas and chocolate. And the only way to put all these things together was to create a milk punch.
The luscious cocktail mixes Absolut Vodka and cocoa butter, smooth banana liquor, zesty lemon juice and cornflake-infused milk. Oh yeah – next-level decadence indeed! Although the cocktail requires some preparation, trust us, it’s worth it! Lastly, while some of the ingredients may also sound intimidating, you’ll see that it’s actually very easy to make.
Ready to get mixing? Let’s do this! Without further ado, here’s Rico to show us how to make Warhol’s Milk Punch.
This one’s for you Andy!
