Who is the Artist KAWS?

KAWS — born Brian Donnelly in 1974 in Jersey City, New Jersey — is one of the most influential contemporary artists working today, celebrated for dissolving the boundaries between fine art, design and popular culture. 

Raised in New Jersey, Donnelly spent his teenage years tagging trains and billboards across the city with his now-iconic KAWS tag. Through his instantly recognizable characters, he has built a body of work that is as thought-provoking as it is accessible — showing up everywhere from major museum walls to city streets around the world. 

His work has been shown at some of the most respected cultural institutions on the planet, including the Brooklyn Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Andy Warhol Museum. 

What Makes Absolut KAWS Unique? 

The Absolut KAWS Artist Edition bottle takes our iconic apothecary-shaped bottle and reimagines it entirely through KAWS’ unmistakable visual language. 

Inspired by a specially commissioned painting, the bottle puts KAWS’ famed “XX” motif and CHUM character front and center — with an image of the original painting on the back. The result turns an everyday object into something unexpected, inviting everyone who picks it up to see it differently. 

Absolut KAWS joins a long history of collaborations — a tradition that has brought together more than 550 artists and produced more than 850 works of art inspired by the Absolut bottle. KAWS is the next name in that lineage. 

Absolut KAWS is available for a limited time only — a collector’s piece and a work of art all in one. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

What is the Absolut KAWS Signature Cocktail?

The signature cocktail for Absolut KAWS is the Absolut XXpresso Martini.
 

A classic Espresso Martini with a KAWS twist, the Absolut XXpresso Martini is made with Absolut Vodka, Kahlúa and fresh espresso, garnished with ten coffee beans arranged in the shape of KAWS’ signature “XX” motif. Unexpected and unmistakably KAWS.

• 2 Parts Absolut Vodka
• 1 Part Kahlúa 
• 1 Part Fresh Espresso 
• 10 Coffee Beans to garnish
