5 Drinks to Make at Home with Absolut Watermelon

A last-minute get-together or one you’ve had on the calendar for weeks — either way, Absolut Watermelon has you covered: from a spritz to a martini. And everything in between.

What Mixes Well with Absolut Watermelon? 

Many things mix well with Absolut Watermelon, including lime, cranberry, sparkling wine and fresh watermelon, and it works simply with soda water or tonic water.

Five drinks to try are an Absolut Watermelon Vodkarita, Absolut Watermelon Cosmopolitan, Absolut Watermelon Spritz, Absolut Watermelon Fizzy Punch and Absolut Watermelon Martini.

Each one takes a familiar cocktail and gives it a watermelon twist, with room to make your own too. Every drink except the twist on the Cosmopolitan includes fresh watermelon (muddled, blended or juiced).

1. Absolut Watermelon Vodkarita

A watermelon vodka Margarita made with lime juice, watermelon juice, and orange liqueur, served in a salt-rimmed glass. 

Limes, salt and a shaker: most of a Vodkarita is already in the kitchen. No planning, no special trip to the store, and it’s ready in minutes. 

Ingredients: 

• 1 part Absolut Watermelon 
• ¾ part Watermelon Juice 
• ⅓ part Lime Juice 
• ⅓ part Simple Syrup 
• A dash of Orange Liqueur 
• Kosher Salt, for the rim 
• Lime Wedge, to garnish 
• Watermelon Wedge, to garnish.

How to Make an Absolut Watermelon Vodkarita: 

1. Cut a watermelon into chunks and blend until smooth.
2. Strain through a fine strainer or sieve, then measure ¾ part of the juice into a cocktail shaker.
3. Cut a lime in half. Run one half around the rim of a rocks glass, then dip the rim in kosher salt.
4. Use a jigger to measure and add 1 part Absolut Watermelon to the shaker.
5. Measure and add ⅓ part simple syrup.
6. Juice the other lime half, then measure and add ⅓ part fresh lime juice.
7. Add a dash of orange liqueur.
8. Fill the shaker with ice and shake until the outside feels cold.
9. Strain into the rocks glass filled with ice cubes. No need to fine strain.
10. Garnish with a lime wedge and a watermelon wedge.

No orange liqueur in the house? Leave it out. It’s still a Vodkarita.

2. Absolut Watermelon Cosmopolitan

As the name suggestions, the Absolut Watermelon Cosmopolitan is a twist on a classic Cosmopolitan, keeping all the ingredients from the original but substituting Absolut Citron for Absolut Watermelon for a whole new profile. 

Ingredients: 

• 1 part Absolut Watermelon 
• ½ part Triple Sec 
• ½ part Lime Juice 
• ½ part Cranberry Juice 
• Lime Twist, to garnish 

How to Make an Absolut Watermelon Cosmopolitan: 

1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. 
2. Shake well and fine strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass. 
3. Garnish with a lime twist. 

Everyone knows the Cosmo but nobody expects it to lead with watermelon. That’s the fun part — taking something familiar and making it yours before anyone can guess where you’re headed. 

3. Absolut Watermelon Spritz

A watermelon spritz, made with Absolut Watermelon, fresh watermelon, simple syrup, shaken with ice, fine-strained into a wine glass, topped with sparkling wine.

It looks like a drink you’d order on vacation, and it’s one of the quickest to make on this list. A sprig of mint and a watermelon wedge, and it’s ready to serve.

Ingredients: 

• 1 part Absolut Watermelon 
• 3 parts Sparkling Wine (Prosecco or Cava) 
• ¼ part Simple Syrup 
• 3-4 Watermelon Chunks 
• Mint Sprig, to garnish 
• Watermelon Wedge to garnish 

How to Make an Absolut Watermelon Spritz: 

1. Cut a watermelon into chunks of about 2 to 3 inches, take 3-4 pieces and throw them in a cocktail shaker.
2. Add the simple syrup and muddle the watermelon to release its juice and flavor.
3. Add Absolut Watermelon and fill the shaker with ice.
4. Shake well, then fine strain into a wine glass filled with fresh ice.
5. Top with sparkling wine and stir once, gently.
6. Garnish with mint and a watermelon wedge.

4. Absolut Watermelon Fizzy Punch 

A blended watermelon vodka punch made with fresh watermelon, lemon juice, and simple syrup, topped with soda water.

“It’s fruity, it’s sweet, and it’s easy as heck to whip up when you’ve got your friends coming over,” says Rico.  

Ingredients: 

• 1 part Absolut Watermelon 
• 1 part Lemon Juice 
• ⅓ part Simple Syrup 
• 3-4 Large Watermelon Chunks 
• Soda Water, to top 
• Sprig of Mint, to garnish 

How to Make an Absolut Watermelon Fizzy Punch: 

1. Cut 3-4 large chunks of watermelon and blend until smooth.
2. Use a sieve or mesh strainer to strain the juice into a Collins glass, or whatever tall glass you have at home.
3. Use a jigger to measure and add ⅓ part simple syrup.
4. Cut a lemon in half, then use a citrus press or citrus elbow to juice it.
5. Measure and add 1 part fresh lemon juice.
6. Measure and add 1 part Absolut Watermelon, then stir with a bar spoon.
7. Add plenty of ice, then top with soda water and stir once more.
8. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Scales easily — multiply every part by however many you’re pouring.

5. Absolut Watermelon Martini

Here we have a Watermelon Vodka Martini made with muddled watermelon and simple syrup, shaken with ice then fine strained and served in a martini glass. 

Martinis come with a reputation: dim bars, sharp suits and a particular way of ordering. This one is shaken with muddled watermelon and served in a martini glass, at your own kitchen counter.

Ingredients: 

• 1 part Absolut Watermelon 
• ½ part Simple Syrup 
• 4 Watermelon Chunks 
• Watermelon Wedge, to garnish 

How to Make an Absolut Watermelon Martini: 

1. Muddle the watermelon chunks with simple syrup in a shaker to release the juice and flavor.
2. Add Absolut Watermelon and ice, then shake until well chilled. 
3. Fine strain into a chilled martini glass. 
4. Garnish with a watermelon wedge. 

Mash the watermelon harder than feels necessary. It’s fine.
