Absolut raspberri sunrise
A twist on the Tequila Sunrise with raspberry vodka!
Written by: Scott vAn Dort
The Absolut Raspberri Sunrise offers a fresh twist on the classic Tequila Sunrise by swapping tequila for vodka (aka a Vodka Sunrise). But that’s not the only twist – it’s made with our incredible raspberry-flavored vodka!
Sweet, fruity and delicious, the Absolut Raspberri Sunrise is a built cocktail made directly in the glass with just two ingredients – Absolut Raspberri and freshly squeezed orange juice.
Then there’s a splash of grenadine (aka pomegranate syrup) to create that gorgeous, signature sunrise effect. Okay, so maybe it’s technically three ingredients. We digress!
Ingredients
- 45 ml Absolut Raspberri
- 150 ml Orange Juice
- 1 Dash Grenadine
- 1 Orange Wedge
- 2 Fresh Raspberries
- Ice Cubes
What You’ll Need
- Jigger
- Knife
- Peeler
- Juicer (preferred, but optional)
- Citrus Press or Citrus Elbow (if you don’t have a juicer)
- Highball Glass
How to Mix
- Use a jigger to measure and pour 45 ml Absolut Raspberri into a highball glass.
- Use a peeler to remove the peel from your oranges. Set aside an orange wedge for garnishing.
- Decide how you’ll juice the oranges:
a. If using a centrifugal juicer, keep the oranges whole.
b. If using a blender, cut the oranges into pieces.
c. If juicing by hand with a citrus press, cut the oranges in half. - Juice the oranges using your preferred method.
- Fill your highball glass with ice cubes.
- Top up the glass (approx. 150 ml) with the freshly squeezed orange juice.
- Pour a dash of grenadine directly into your glass to create a sunrise effect.
- Garnish with an orange wedge and two fresh raspberries.
Add a twist
The Absolut Raspberri Sunrise is a simple two-ingredient drink, making it easy to add a twist. With endless options, you can customize it to suit your taste.
- If you’re a fan of citrus, swap Absolut Raspberri for Absolut Grapefruit. Not only will you create a twist on the Absolut Raspberri Sunrise, but you’ll also reinvent The Greyhound. Trust us, the blend of orange juice and grapefruit-flavored vodka is amazing.
- Keeping things citrusy, substitute Absolut Raspberri with Absolut Mandrin. The combo of mandarin and orange is a match made in heaven, especially since the common sweet orange is, in fact, a natural hybrid of mandarin and pomelo.
- For garnish ideas, consider adding a maraschino cherry. It’s a classic choice that often adorns a classic Tequila Sunrise, bringing a touch of nostalgia to your drink.
- If you’re looking to enhance your drink with additional citrus garnishes, try pairing your orange wedge with a lime wedge or lime wheel. Alternatively, a slice of blood orange can add a splash of color and a unique flavor twist.
