The Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy is one of the easiest drinks to make but, whatever you do, don’t underestimate the passion behind its flavor!
The Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy is a fruity twist on a classic Vodka Soda and contains just two ingredients – Absolut Passionfruit and crisp soda water.
Best of all, this built drink requires no shaking or blending, making it perfect for summer parties and guaranteed to satisfy every guest, no matter their taste preferences.
Ingredients
- 45 ml Absolut Passionfruit
- 135 ml Soda Water
- 1 Passion Fruit Half
- Ice Cubes
What You’ll Need
- Jigger (or measuring tool)
- Knife
- Highball Glass
How to Mix
- Grab a highball glass and fill with ice cubes.
- Use a jigger to measure and pour 45 ml Absolut Passionfruit into the glass.
- Use the jigger again to measure and add 135 ml soda water.
- Cut a passion fruit in half and float one passion fruit half to garnish.
Add a twist
- The best thing about our flavored vodkas is that they’re born to mix. Simply swap Absolut Passionfruit for Absolut Citron and you’ve suddenly got yourself a delicious and citrusy Absolut Citron Soda.
Garnish with a lemon wedge instead of passion fruit for the perfect touch.
- Prefer lime to lemon? No problems – use Absolut Lime and you’re now holding an Absolut Lime Soda! And just like that, you’ve now got three incredible vodka cocktails to serve your guests!
- If you want to accentuate those passion fruit flavors in your Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy, add approximately 10 ml of passion fruit purée to your drink.
Just be sure to strain the passion fruit purée using a fine mesh strainer to avoid getting any pulp or seeds in your drink.
Common questions
Still looking for tips and inspiration for Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy? We’ll leave you with these commonly asked questions.
Firstly, it’s important to note that a Passion Fruit Fizz is not the same as an Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy.
Passion Fruit Fizz is a twist on a classic “fizz” cocktail but does share some similarities to an Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy. To make a Passion Fruit Fizz, mix Absolut Passionfruit, fresh lime juice, passion fruit purée, simple syrup and top up with soda water. Garnish with half a passion fruit or a lime wedge.
Sure. If you prefer to use original Absolut Vodka instead of passion fruit-flavored vodka, we recommend that you add passion fruit purée to the mix so that the taste of passion fruit is still present. Otherwise, you’d just be drinking a classic Vodka Soda.
A classic “fizz” cocktail is made with a base spirit, typically gin or vodka, citrus juice and a sweetener like sugar or syrup, then topped with soda water. An optional egg white is often added to create a frothy head.
On the other hand, the term “fizzy” isn’t a formal category in cocktail making but refers to any drink that includes a flavored spirit and soda water. In this case, a “fizzy” is much simpler than a “fizz” cocktail – made with just a flavored base spirit and soda water, garnished with a complimentary fruit.
Yes, you can substitute tonic water for soda water, but it will alter the flavor significantly. The quinine from tonic water adds a distinct bitterness, while its sweetness creates a more complex, aromatic drink compared to the clean, neutral taste of soda water. We recommend using soda water to make the Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy.
Choosing the right glassware for your drinks is important, not just for presentation, but to accommodate the ingredients. We recommend a highball glass for an Absolut Passionfruit Fizzy, as it’s tall enough to hold the ice cubes and soda water.
