Absolut Citron Soda combines everyday ingredients with Absolut Citron for a stone-cold classic with a zesty brightness.
Super easy to make, the Absolut Citron Soda homes in on simple flavors. That means it fits in just about anywhere whether you’re hosting a full-on party or just having an aperitif.
Ingredients
- 40 ml Absolut Citron
- 150 ml Soda Water
- 15 ml Lime Juice
- 1 Lime Wheel
- 1 Lemon Wheel
- Ice Cubes
What You’ll Need
- A citrus press
- A knife
- Jigger
How to Mix
- Take a lime, slice it in half and squeeze the juice into your glass. You can do this by hand or with a citrus elbow.
- Fill your glass with ice cubes.
- Add 40ml of Absolut Citron.
- Add 150ml of soda water.
- (Optional) Garnish with a slice or wheel of both lemon and lime.
Add a Twist
- For a summer twist that you can serve at your next barbecue, why not sub out Absolut Citron with Absolut Watermelon? Throw in some watermelon chunks or slices for a vibrant pop of coral and scarlet.
- If you’re looking for a more robust take, double down on lime juice and trade the soda water for 10 ml each of triple sec and simple syrup. The result will take you closer to a Margarita than a spritzy summer soda.
- For a fiery pairing, change your soda water for ginger beer.
- Garnish with mint leaves and lime wedges for a bright, herbal flavor and a distinctive splash of green.
Common questions
While the drink recipe requires a lemon-flavored vodka, you can use original if you prefer. If you want to keep the citrus zing but don’t have any Absolut Citron, you can add a dash of lemon into the mix.
A Vodka Soda cocktail includes the same ingredients as an Absolut Citron Soda, but instead of using lemon-flavored vodka, it uses regular vodka. You might also know it as a Vodka Seltzer or Vodka Highball.
As a general rule of thumb, we recommend something close to one-part vodka, three-parts soda water; but ultimately, the ratio should be dictated by taste. You should be able to enjoy the flavor of the vodka without it overpowering the drink.
