Watch Rico make a Vesper Martini – Luxury vs Budget!
We’re back! That’s right, it’s time for a brand-new episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico. And trust us, you’re not going to want to miss this one.
In this latest episode, Rico takes things to new heights as he makes a classic Vesper Martini. But not just one Vesper Martini. No, no – Rico shows how to make two different Vesper Martini cocktails – a luxury version and a regular version. OH YEAH!
But more on that in a moment…
What is a Vesper Martini?
The Vesper Martini is an elegant and timeless classic martini created by an author of a literary franchise about a suave British secret agent who enjoys drinking them.
Where classic martinis are usually made with gin or vodka, the Vesper Martini includes both. Why choose one when you can have both, right?
Crisp, cool and herbal, there’s the juniper notes of the gin, the smoothness of vodka, and the citrusy, floral, and subtly honeyed flavors of Lillet Blanc. Oh yes, the Vesper Martini is the epitome of elegance.
Vesper Martini – shaken or stirred?
Although the fictitious British secret agent insists that the Vesper Martini should be “shaken not stirred,” here, Rico shows you how to make a stirred Vesper Martini. And trust us, it’s incredible.
That’s the thing about the Vesper, even though it’s elegant and complex, it’s a deceptively easy to make cocktail. No fancy home bartending tools required.
Luxury vs budget – which does Rico prefer?
OK, as we mentioned above that Rico makes two Vesper Martinis. Why, you ask? Well, Rico demonstrates how to make the perfect Vesper Martini suited to your budget.
That’s right, Rico showcases both a luxury Vesper Martini with super premium ingredients and a regular or budget version.
But we’re not done yet! The suspense intensifies as Rico is blindfolded and asked to taste both drinks to see which one he prefers! Ah, that suspense!
So, which does Rico prefer – the luxury Vesper or the regular Vesper? Well, you’ll just have to watch to find out!

To make a Mango Fresca, you’ll need a blender, some mango-flavored vodka, a fresh mango, fresh pressed lime juice, and the cleanest, most pristine aqua (pssst, that’s water in Spanish).
Trust us, there’s nothing like sitting in the backyard with friends, sipping on a Mango Fresca. But don’t just take our word for it:
“It’s a delicious drink – clean and fruit-forward,” says Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador. “It tastes like ripe mango and it’s perfect for any BBQ, dinner party or anytime you’re doing batch drinks for a lot of friends.”
Here’s the drink recipe for a Mango Fresca cocktail.
5. Absolut Lime Mule
Have you noticed the pattern yet? Ah, you got it! That’s right, all the drinks featured on our favorite summer drinks list have had two things in common – Absolut Vodka and fresh lime. And we’re continuing this trend with the Absolut Lime Mule.
This drink has been a big hit this summer but, let’s be honest, you can never go wrong with a mule. The Absolut Lime follows the same recipe as a classic mule cocktail but uses Absolut Lime instead.
So, if you’re lime inclined like us, then this is gonna be your new favorite summer mule cocktail.

Rico Makes 3 Easy Cocktails with Absolut Lime!
In the latest episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico, it’s Absolut Lime – our Lime-Flavored Vodka – that steps into the limelight.
If you’ve not yet tried Absolut Lime, then you’re in for a surprise! The aroma is intensely zesty, with the sharp acidity of freshly squeezed lime, and the taste is unmistakably, distinctly green lime.
What can we say? We love Absolut Lime, and it works so well in these three drinks. Let’s take a closer look at the drinks in this episode, shall we?
Key Lime Colada
First up, Rico makes the Key Lime Colada – a Lime Vodka twist on a classic – you guessed it – Piña Colada cocktail. Best of all, it’s super simple to make.
Absolut Lime, Lime Juice and Coconut Milk, topped off with Biscuit Crumbs. Wow! You get the zesty, tart lime mingling with the rich, dessert-like creaminess, plus a crunchy biscuity finish.
What could be better?!
Hot Lime Mule
Bookmark this video so you can watch it again in the Autumn and winter because the Hot Lime Mule is the ultimate winter warmer.
Think of the Hot Lime Mule as a winter twist on a classic Mule cocktail, served warm instead of ice-cold. In this episode, Rico shows you how to create a delicious, spiced apple juice from scratch with cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and ginger.
And then there’s the heavy vanilla cream and the grated nutmeg on top. All of a sudden winter doesn’t seem so bad, does it?
Guilt Tea Pleasure
Last but not least, Rico shows how to make the Guilt Tea Pleasure – a delicious tea cocktail and an easy summer drink.
Made with Absolut Lime, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, ginger juice, cold brew jasmine tea, and topped with soda water, it’s fresh, citrusy, floral and, well, just perfect.
Trust us, there’s no reason to feel guilty about drinking this one!
The list of drinks you can make with our Lime Vodka is endless. So, which will be your new favorite Absolut Lime drink?

Mark your calendars for July 24, because it’s National Tequila Day. It’s the day where people in the U.S. and elsewhere around the world celebrate this beloved Agave spirit from Mexico. Whether you’re making a Margarita, a Paloma or Cantaritos, it’s the perfect day to sip these classic cocktails.
But, here at Absolut, in the spirit of doing things differently, we’re putting a twist on these three cocktails. This National Tequila Day, we’re excited to show you how to make these beloved Tequila drinks using three different vodka flavors instead!
So, without further ado…
The Swedish Paloma
Love grapefruit? Us too! This vodka version a Paloma uses Absolut Grapefruit instead of Tequila and mixes Fresh Ruby Red Grapefruit together with Soda Water instead of Grapefruit Soda. We call it The Swedish Paloma, and wow, what a drink it is!
To make the Swedish Paloma, fill your cocktail shaker with ice cubes, then add 1 ½ parts Absolut Grapefruit, 1 ½ parts of Ruby Grapefruit Juice, and ¼ part Lime Juice. Unsure what a cocktail part is? No worries, check out our article where we explain how to make cocktails using parts.
Next, give it a good shake then strain into a Highball Glass, top up with Soda Water and garnish with a Grapefruit Wedge.
Crisp and clean, it’s a favorite summer sipper here at Absolut.
Absolut Mango Margarita
Next up, we’ve got the Absolut Mango Margarita. That’s right, it’s a Mango Magarita made with Absolut Mango.
If you’ve ever been to Mexico, you’ll know that mangoes are immensely popular, as are Mango Margaritas, which makes our Mango-Flavored Vodka the perfect choice for this cocktail.
Mix 1 part Absolut Mango , 1 part Fresh Lime Juice , ½ a part Triple Sec and ½ part of Mango Purée together with ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Shake until chilled then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. The result? A smooth, juicy tropical delight that retains the zesty character of a classic Margarita.
Absolut Peppar Cantaritos
Last but certainly not least we’ve for a Cantaritos made with vodka, which we call the Absolut Peppar Cantaritos. Why? Because we swap Tequila for Absolut Peppar, our deliciously spicy Black-Pepper Flavored Vodka.
“With Absolut Peppar, you get the crisp flavor of cracked Black Pepper, which is immense and works phenomenally in this drink,” says Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador.
This is an easy to make ‘built drink’, which means everything is built in the glass. And who doesn’t love easy to make drinks that you can whip up for parties without any shaking or blending?
So, grab a glass, rim it with Tajin Spice, and then fill it with ice cubes. Next add 1 part Absolut Peppar, 1 ½ parts Orange Juice, ½ part Lime Juice and ¾ part Grapefruit Juice . Next top it up with Grapefruit Soda and garnish with a Lime Wedge. There you have it – your new favorite summer drink!
“I wouldn’t be disappointed if I got this Vodka version instead of Tequila, even in Mexico,” says Rico. Neither we would, Rico! Sip and enjoy!

In this latest episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico, Ice Cream is the theme!
You heard it right; in this 3-drink episode, Rico makes three of the most decadent drinks you’re ever going to see, including two non-alcoholic ice cream drinks that will have you drooling as you watch.
But that’s not all –Rico also shows you how to make your own Cornflake Ice Cream from scratch – no ice cream maker required! All you need is two ingredients! So, what’s on the menu this week?
Cornflake Cola Float
The first of the non-alcoholic drinks is the Cornflake Cola Float – a drink that transports you back to a 1950s diner.
Heads up! Making the Cornflake Ice Cream takes some prep time, so be sure to let it set overnight before you make up this drink.
Once you’ve made your Cornflake Ice Cream, all you need is your favorite Cola and you’re all set to go.
Cornflake Milkshake
You know when you’re eating a bowl of Cornflakes and you get to the last part in the bowl that delicious, condensed mix of Cornflakes and milk? Well, that’s what this drink is all about!
Inspired by a drink from one of London’s most famous steakhouses, the Cornflake Milkshake is the second of the non-alcoholic drinks in this episode and, to quote Rico, it’s one of the best drinks we’ve ever made on Absolut Drinks with Rico!
Again, you’ll need to make your Cornflake Ice Cream in advance before you get to sip on this dreamy delight.
Frozen Banana Mudslide
The third and final drink is made with Absolut Vodka and it’s a showstopper!
The Frozen Banana Mudslide is a twist on a traditional Mudslide but it’s somehow even more decadent. “I wanted to make this one a little bit thicker, a little bit smaller and a little more indulgent,” says Rico. Job well done, Rico!
It’s made with equal parts Absolut Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, and Irish Cream Liqueur, Vanilla Ice Cream, Banana, and Chocolate Sauce. Oh yeah, it doesn’t get more decadent than this!

The Mojito is one of the most popular cocktails in the world and every year on July 11, people in the U.S. and beyond toast to National Mojito Day. And we’re only too happy to raise a glass to that.
The classic Cuban punch mixes light rum, lime juice, mint leaves, and soda water and it’s hands-down one of the tastiest drinks around. This year, to celebrate National Mojito Day, we’re shaking things up with five amazing vodka mojitos. Yep, we’re swapping out light rum for various flavored vodkas.
Trust us, if you’re fan of the Mojito, you’re about to find your new go-to drink. The only question is, which one will it be?
Cosmojito
What would happen if you mixed a classic Mojito with a Cosmopolitan cocktail? Without further ado, we present to you the Cosmojito!
The Cosmojito mixes Absolut Citron, Sweetened Cranberry Juice, Triple Sec, Lime Juice…and wait for it…Mint Leaves! It’s the best of both worlds – two iconic drinks in one glass!

Absolut Lime Mojito
Next up is a Lime Vodka Mojito! If you love the taste of Lime Juice in your Mojito, then this is your drink. It’s lime on lime!
The Absolut Lime Mojito follows the same recipe as a classic Mojito but uses Absolut Lime instead of Light Rum. And it’s subLIME!
Here’s how to make an Absolut Lime Mojito.
Absolut Mango Mojito
Looking for a Mojito with even more tropical vibes? How about a Mojito with Mango Flavored Vodka then?
Like the Lime Vodka Mojito above, this drink follows the same recipe as a traditional Mojito but uses Absolut Mango instead of Light Rum. But that’s not all – it’s also garnished with a juicy Mango slice.
Lime, Mint, and Mango? Come on! Discover the recipe for an Absolut Mango Mojito.
Absolut Strawberry Mojito
Unlike the other drinks on this list, this Mojito variation uses original Absolut Vodka instead of a flavored vodka.
First muddle a Strawberry than mix in Absolut Vodka, Lemon Juice instead of Lime Juice, Mint Leaves, and Simple Syrup, then top up with Soda Water.
Here’s how to make an Absolut Strawberry Mojito.
Absolut Citron Mojito
What can we say? We love Absolut Citron. We love it much so that we created a Mojito with Lemon-Flavored Vodka!
With Absolut Citron and Lime Juice both in the mix, the end result is a citrus-forward Mojito that’s fresh, zesty, and utterly delicious.

Raise your (Hurricane) glass and toast to National Piña Colada Day!
In the U.S. and all around the world, every year on July 10, cocktail lovers raise a glass to National Piña Colada Day. And we get it. When it comes to creamy tropical drinks, there’s nothing quite like a Piña Colada. It’s one of the creamiest and most iconic tropical cocktails of all time.
To celebrate National Piña Colada Day this year, we’re going to give you two twists on Piña Colada, using vodka! “What?!”. Oh yes, we’re going to make two incredible Piña Coladas with vodka instead of light rum. But wait…as if that wasn’t enough, we’re going to use two flavored vodkas.
Trust us, if you like Piña Coladas, you’re gonna love these!
Spooky Colada
Even though it’s not Halloween, we’re including this drink because it’s so tasty, it’s scary. Yes, it’s a favorite here at Absolut.
The Spooky Colada mixes 1-part Absolut Lime, 1-part Malibu, 2-parts Coconut Cream, 1-parts Lime Juice, 2-parts Pineapple Juice, and a few dashes of Aromatic Bitters.
Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, fill to the top with ice cubes and get shaking until your shaker is ice-cold.
Next, fill a Highball Glass with ice cubes. Not sure what cocktail glassware to use? Check out our article on the different types of cocktail glassware.
Finally, strain the cocktail through a strainer directly into your glass. If you don’t know which type of strainer to use, see our article on essential cocktail tools for mixologists.
Now it’s time to sip and enjoy!
Coconut Colada Grove
Next up it’s the Coconut Colada Grove. Are you ready for this? Just like a traditional Piña Colada, this cocktail features coconut cream and pineapple juice but instead of the light rum it uses Absolut Passionfruit. MIND-BLOWN!
But we’re not stopping there, we’re also adding some lime juice to the mix. Oh yeah! This Piña Colada variation boasts a wonderful zesty quality thanks to the lime juice and lovely tartness from the Passionfruit Vodka. It works so well with the luscious coconut cream and acidity from the pineapple juice.
The Coconut Colada Grove is another blended drink. So, grab your blender, and add 1 and half parts Absolut Passionfruit, 3 and quarter parts Pineapple Juice, 1 part Coconut Cream and quarter of a part Lime Juice.
Once blended, strain directly into a Hurricane Glass (c’mon, it’s a Piña Colada – you gotta use a Hurricane Glass!).
To finish, garnish with a twist of lime.
There it is! Two amazing vodka versions of a Piña Colada. Sip and enjoy!
Cheers to National Piña Colada Day!

It’s that time again – and, trust us, you’re not going to want to miss this episode of Absolut Drinks with Rico!
In this latest episode, Rico shows how to make three incredible cocktails that can be made with any Absolut Flavored Vodka.
Here, Rico makes three different drinks – a Mango Fresca, an Absolut Wild Berri & Lemon-Lime Soda and a batch of Absolut Sherbet Shots – using three different flavored vodkas. The best part is that they’re all universal drinks, meaning that you can swap one flavored vodka for another, and it’ll still going to be an AMAZING drink.
Mix things up, have fun and create your own favorite cocktail! Let’s take a quick look at the drinks, shall we?
Absolut Sherbet Shots
These vodka shots are served in popping candy-dipped shot glasses and taste like sherbet candies. In other words, the Absolut Sherbet Shots are a guaranteed hit for any big party.
Rico makes a batch of shots, which provides for 20 x 50 ml individual shots. These shots are made with equal parts, so they’re super easy to make and you can keep them chilled in your fridge until your guests arrive.
Rico uses Absolut Passionfruit, but you can use Flavored Vodka. Mango, Lime, Vanilia, Wild Berri, Pears – it’s up to you. They’re your shots!
Absolut Mango Fresca The Mango Fresca is a twist on an Agua Fresca made with Absolut Mango.
A traditional Agua Fresca is a non-alcoholic beverage, but here Rico makes a spirited Fresca. The Mango Fresca mixes our incredible Mango-Flavored Vodka together with Fresh Mango, Lime Juice, and Water.
“It tastes like ripe mango and it’s perfect for any BBQ, dinner party or anytime you’re doing batch drinks for a lot of friends,” says Rico.
Swap Absolut Mango for Absolut Watermelon and suddenly you’ve got a Watermelon Fresca. Or use Absolut Mandrin for a Mandarin-Flavored Fresca. Create your own Fresca!
Absolut Wild Berri & Lemon-Lime Soda
Talk about an easy-to-make cocktail. The Absolut Wild Berri and Lemon-Lime Soda is a cocktail with only two ingredients.
And just when it couldn’t get any easier, this drink is built entirely within the glass without the need for shaking or blending.
Lemon-Lime Soda works with every flavor, so even though Rico makes this drink using Absolut Wild Berri, you can make it with your favorite Absolut Flavored Vodka. A drink to suit every taste!

We’re back! That’s right, it’s time for a new season of Absolut Drinks with Rico. And in this first episode, we’re not holding back! Rico shows you how to make none other than the Penicillin!
The Penicillin cocktail is a modern classic that was created in New York in 2005 by a legendary Australian bartender living in New York. The bar itself was one of the most influential bars of the 21st. century.
Is the Penicillin a popular drink?
Yes, you could say that! Since its invention in the early 2000s, the Penicillin cocktail quickly became one of the most popular drinks in bars all around the world.
In fact, in 2024, the Penicillin cocktail is said to be the 11th most commonly ordered cocktail at bars worldwide.
But hey, you don’t need to go to a bar to enjoy a Penicillin cocktail. As Rico demonstrates, it’s actually an easy to make cocktail at home. So, if you want to wow your friends, you gotta make this one.
So, what does a Penicillin cocktail taste like?
It was inspired by the Gold Rush, another drink created by the same Aussie bartender living in New York. By extension, you could also say the Gold Rush is similar to a Whiskey Sour.
The Penicillin cocktail is made with Blended Scotch, Ginger Liqueur, Lemon Juice, Honey Syrup and a hint of Peated Single Malt Islay Whisky. Intriguing, huh?
Rico? “It’s light and fresh. There’s some smokiness from the Peated Single Malt Islay Whisky, a little bit of fieriness from the Ginger, and the Scotch Whisky that brings it all together,” says Rico.
Hot tip! To perfect your Penicillin cocktail, choose the best Ginger Liqueur you can afford. “Choose something with a little bit of punchiness and something that has a strong Ginger flavor,” shares Rico. Trust us, the flavor of Ginger really comes through in this drink, so make sure you choose a Ginger Liqueur you really enjoy.
Now grab your shaker, hit play and get mixing!

Read moreWhat is World Martini Day?
World Martini Day is a worldwide annual event held on the third Saturday in June celebrating the Martini in all its glorious forms.
Just like people, Martinis are wonderfully diverse, each drink is completely unique. Shaken, stirred, dry or wet, how you enjoy a Martini is very much down to personal taste.
When you think of a Martini, chances are you think of a classic Gin or Vodka Martini with a Green Olive or Lemon Twist. But the fact is, there are as many Martini variations as there are bottles in a well-stocked liquor cabinet.
First, there are the classic Martinis, like the Dry Martini, Vesper Martini and Dirty Martini. Then there’s the Neo-Martinis and Fresh Fruit Martinis (aka Fruitinis), including the Pornstar Martini, Appletini (aka Apple Martini) and Pineapple Martini.
At Absolut, we love Martinis and so to celebrate World Martini Day, we’ve put together five of the best Vodka Martinis around.
Pornstar Martini
The Pornstar Martini (aka Passion Star Martini) is one of the hottest drinks today. Even if it doesn’t quite fit the classic Martini mold, instead belonging to the Fresh Fruit Martini category, it’s quite simply one of the best drinks out there.
Made with Absolut Vanilia – our delicious Vanilla-Flavored Vodka, Passion Fruit Purée, muddled Pineapple, and Vanilla Syrup, served with a side of Champagne or Prosecco, the Pornstar Martini is glitzy, glamorous, and so damn delicious.
Discover the recipe for a Pornstar Martini.
The Vodka Martini
“This is a Martini for a BBQ. This is a Martini for a backyard party,” shares Ricardo ‘Rico’ Dynan, Bartender and Absolut Global Brand Ambassador.
The Vodka Martini is more than just a drink; it’s a symbol of sophistication. Yet in the video below, you’ll see Rico stirring things up by serving his Vodka Martini in a Rocks Glass with a large Ice Cube instead of the classic Martini Glass.
Why the switch? This way, you can mingle at your gathering with your Martini securely in hand, without worrying about dropping a delicate Martini Glass. Genius!
The Vodka Martini mixes 45 ml of Absolut Vodka with 10 ml of Dry Vermouth, which Rico admits verges on being a Wet Martini. What makes a great Martini? Personal choice!
Hot tip! Always keep your Vermouth in the fridge. It’s a wine, not a spirit and it will spoil if it’s not refrigerated.
Lemon Drop Martini
The Lemon Drop Martini blends the smoothness of Absolut Citron, our incredibly popular Lemon-Flavored Vodka, with zesty Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice. Add the sweet orange notes from Triple Sec and a hint of simple syrup, and you’ve got one delicious and incredibly citrusy Martini.
So, like Rico says, “When life gives you lemons, you get a bottle of Absolut Citron and make Lemon Drops!” Take a look at the recipe to see how to make a Lemon Drop Martini.
Espresso Martini
The most popular cocktail on the planet. Period. Like the Pornstar Martini, the beloved Espresso Martini shares little in common with a classic Martini but it has single handedly redefined what a Martini is.
The Espresso Martini mixes Absolut Vodka, Fresh Espresso, and Kahlúa coffee liqueur. The result is a drink that’s unmistakably distinct, sophisticated, bold, creamy and delicious. Check out our recipe for the perfect Espresso Martini.
French Martini
An 80s classic, the French Martini is made with Absolut Vodka, Fresh Pineapple Juice and French Black-Raspberry and Honey Liqueur and garnished with a slice of Pineapple. Mmmm, mmmm!
Hot tip! Rico suggests adding just a touch of Lime Juice to balance things out, since the drink contains two sweet elements – Pineapple Juice and the French Black-Raspberry and Honey Liqueur.
And we have to say, the touch of Lime Juice does wonders for this already incredible drink. Discover our recipe for a French Martini.
