Can Anybody Make a Vodka Sour? – Studio Challenge!
Get ready for this week’s studio showdown! This week on Absolut Drinks with Rico we’re asking the question “Can anybody make a Vodka Sour?”.
But before we answer that – let’s recap our previous studio challenges.
In the first studio challenge, we put seven guests to the test to see if anybody could make a Raspberry Collins. But now, let’s see if anyone can make a Vodka Sour cocktail!
What’s in a Vodka Sour?
A classic Vodka Sour recipe is made with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, egg white, and a few dashes of bitters, garnished with a whole cherry and a lemon wedge. What vodka should you use to make a Vodka Sour, you ask? Absolut Vodka, of course!
Now if you’re looking for an alternative to egg whites when making a cocktail, you can use aquafaba. Aquafaba is made from water or brine produced from cooked chickpeas. Trust us, it works amazingly in cocktails if you’re wanting that wonderful velvety-like foam on your cocktail but don’t want to use egg whites.
How do you make a Vodka Sour?
How many ways are there to crack an egg? Well, as our guests demonstrate, it turns out there’s quite a few! Similarly, how to use a cocktail shaker – who knew there were so many ways!
As you’ll see, our guests each have their unique cocktail-making style. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with making a drink a certain way – it’s your drink, after all! But, with that said, there are a few basics worth following to avoid a cocktail disaster…
We gave each of the guests the ingredients they needed to make the drink, along with the essential bartending tools. Watch as they tackle cracking eggs, separating egg whites, measuring shots, and shaking a cocktail. Hmmmm!
So, the question remains – can anybody make a Vodka Sour? Hit play and let’s find out!
