5 Incredible Champagne Cocktails for Global Champagne Day

On October 24, it’s time to pop those corks as we celebrate Global Champagne Day – a day dedicated to the bubbly brilliance of champagne. 

Of course, we all know champagne is known for its sparkling ability to turn any occasion into a celebration and is the drink of choice whether you’re toasting at a wedding, ringing in the New Year, or just celebrating the fact that it’s Friday.

But at Absolut, we believe in doing things differently. So, to celebrate Global Champagne Day, we’ve put together a list five incredible cocktails that mix champagne and vodka, including a few showstoppers made with flavored vodka.

French 76 

The French 76 is a variation of the gin classic, the French 75 made with Absolut Vodka, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. 

To make the French 76, combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake until perfectly chilled. Next, strain and pour it into a coupe glass, then top with champagne and garnish with a maraschino cherry and a lemon twist.

Vodka Mimosa
The Mimosa is a beloved cocktail, so cherished that it even has its own day of celebration in the U.S. – National Mimosa Day, which occurs annually on May 16.

A classic Mimosa cocktail is made with just two ingredients – champagne and orange juice. But at Absolut, we’ve put on our twist on a Mimosa but adding Absolut Vodka to the mix. 

To make a Vodka Mimosa, combine 1½ parts Orange Juice and ¾ parts Absolut Vodka in a champagne flute and then top up with champagne.

Sherbet Martini
The Sherbet Martini is a delicious vodka and champagne cocktail that uses Absolut Peppar to turn up the heat on a martini.

“Passionfruit, Black Pepper, smoothed out by Champagne – you’re not going to get a much better drink than this,” says Rico. And we gotta say, we agree 100%. 

The Sherbet Martini is simple to make but requires a bit of patience with the Lime Oleo Saccharum (Latin for oil-sugar) needing to sit overnight. Once that’s done, you’re ready to mix up a cocktail worth the wait.

Spiced Cosmo Punch
Hosting a party with lots of guests? Then this is your drink. The Spiced Cosmo Punch is a batch drink and a riff on a Cosmopolitan cocktail.

This party-perfect punch, made in a punch bowl, combines Absolut Citron, orange curaçao, lime juice, chai tai, brown sugar syrup and a frozen mold made of cranberry juice-soaked orange and lime wheels. But it’s not a celebration without some bubbly, so champagne is then poured in for the grand finale.
