One where everyone has the freedom to express their true selves, without fear or recrimination. For 35 years, we have been proud to stand behind the LGBTQ+ community, championing equal love for all. We celebrate the right of individuals to love whomever they choose, wherever they come from.
In Canada, homosexuality has been decriminalized since 1969 – but it still remains illegal in many countries. Absolut’s Kiss With Pride imagery celebrates people from several of those countries who kiss with pride. The campaign’s goal was to raise awareness of the fact that same-sex relationships are still illegal in 72 countries. We asked individuals from those countries to come together and portray human love and compassion at its most natural state – by uniting for a kiss. Absolut has championed equal love since 1879, and we are proud to support Rainbow Railroad as LGBTQ+ defenders who campaign for change. By partnering with Rainbow Railroad – one of Canada’s most prominent LGBTQ+ charities – we’re helping to support the vital work they do transforming lives and promoting equality worldwide.
In countries all over the world, lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-identified (LGBTQ+) people live in basic fear for their freedom, their safety and their lives. They often have nowhere to turn because their government and police not only tolerate but encourage this brutality. Rainbow Railroad exists to help these people get out of danger to somewhere safe. In the spirit of – and in homage to – the Underground Railroad, the mission of the Rainbow Railroad is to help LGBTQ+ people as they seek safe haven from state-enabled violence or persecution. Through donations, they’re able to support, provide information, and help arrange safe transportation for these people to somewhere else in the world they can live their lives in safety.

Absolut Rainbow Edition
Through the years, Absolut has activated a wide range of LGBTQ+ initiatives, including the first spirits bottle ever to wear the rainbow flag, which was made in collaboration with Gilbert Baker, the designer behind the original flag. To us, the rainbow flag represents the diverse voices of the LGBTQ+ community coming together, celebrating difference in unity.
And as the flag turns 40, we’re proud to commemorate it with a new limited edition bottle – Absolut Rainbow Edition, adorned with brush strokes to honour every creative artist inspired by the Absolut bottle in the past. Enjoy our vodka in moderation, but please be anything but moderate when spreading the message on the outside. Taking pride in diversity is what the world needs, now more than ever.
