Behind the distinctive design of Absolut World is the same Swedish vodka as in a bottle of Absolut Vodka. It is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike some other vodkas, it doesn’t contain any added sugar. In fact, Absolut is as clean as vodka can be. Still, it has a certain taste: rich, full-bodied and complex, yet smooth and mellow with a distinct character of grain, followed by a hint of dried fruit. All Absolut Vodka is made in the same distillery, with wheat from the same fields, and water from our own deep well.
This edition’s core message of celebrating global unity is manifested by Swedish artist Kari Modén through the use of expressive and familiar symbols such as the hand peace sign for peace, a heart for love, an ampersand for togetherness, and an eye to signal that we aim to see and recognize the best in each other. Written messages such as ‘Peace 4 all’, ‘All together’ and ’Love 4 all’ are scattered across the design and echo the symbols through words. For this limited edition, the traditional L.O. Smith medallion has been replaced by a pattern representing a world map in bold neon color. The motif is playful, decorative and avant-garde and is the first-time neon colors have been used for an Absolut Vodka bottle design. The neon is beautifully contrasted by touches of gold and strokes in our blue signature color.
Around 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced to Sweden the continuous distillation process with which he made Absolut Rent Brännvin. Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled a countless number of times. 100 years later, it was reintroduced as Absolut. Just as then, Absolut is produced in Åhus in Southern Sweden. This is also the region where L.O. Smith was born and where the main ingredients wheat and water come from. And since the way Absolut is made won’t change, neither will the true taste of our vodka.
