ABSOLUT RUBY RED was introduced in 2006, just a few years after the success with the other citrus flavored members of the family ABSOLUT CITRON and ABSOLUT MANDRIN. The name ABSOLUT RUBY RED is taken from a special kind of red grapefruit. And grapefruit is of course what it tastes like!
ABSOLUT RUBY RED is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike most other flavored vodkas, it doesn’t contain any added sugar. ABSOLUT RUBY RED is smooth and fruity with a crisp and refreshing character of zesty grapefruit.
In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Bränvin (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. ABSOLUT RUBY RED is made the same way, the only difference is the taste of grapefruit. And, like the rest of the family, it’s produced in Åhus, L.O. Smith’s birth town. Since nothing of that will change, neither will the true taste of ABSOLUT RUBY RED.
The main ingredients in ABSOLUT RUBY RED are ABSOLUT VODKA and grapefruit flavor. ABSOLUT VODKA is made from water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Åhus where it’s protected from impurities. The winter wheat is also grown in Åhus and differs from other crops: it’s sown in fall, and harvested the next one. Days in between it grows under the Swedish snow developing its hard grain. Also, the use of fertilizers is minimized. Of course, the grapefruits are as natural as the rest of the ingredients.

1 part ABSOLUT Ruby Red
2 parts Grapefruit Juice
Fill a salt rimmed rocks glass to the rim with ice cubes. Pour ABSOLUT RUBY RED and grapefruit juice over the ice. Garnish with grape zest.
1 part ABSOLUT Ruby Red
1 part Honey Syrup
1 part Lemon Juice
5 Mint Leaves
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a mint leave.

Pink Grapefruit
Lime juice
Soda
Muddle pink grapefruit in the bottom of a highball glass, fill glass with crushed ice, pour ABSOLUT RUBY RED and lime on top, add som more crushed ice, Top with soda and give it a gentle stir.
4 parts ABSOLUT Ruby Red
1 part Honey
Red Grapefruit
Muddle red grapefruit with the honey in the bottom of a rocks glass. Fill glass with crushed ice, and ABSOLUT RUBY RED. Stir and garnish with red grapefruit.
2 parts ABSOLUT Ruby Red
3 parts Cranberry Juice
Fill a highball glass to the rim with ice cubes. Pour all the ingredients over the ice. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
