A Lovely Night at the Standard

Back in August, Absolut connected with Andre Saraiva for ‘Back to Sweden’ his first gallery show in his native country. Continuing with the Dream Concerts aesthetic that he presented in Sweden, he debuted a poster series titled Artist of the Day at a pop-up gallery hosted at the Standard Hotel in Miami —  yesterday’s artist was Damien Hirst.

In addition to the posters, Saravia presented his new ‘Love Rug’ pieces, which are a twist on his ongoing project titled ‘Love Graffiti’. Beginning 2000, Saraiva began spray painting affectionate murals of his lovers’ names in places he knew they would see. Eventually, he started doing it for friends as well, creating a beautiful street collection. Transforming his original style into something completely new, hand-knotted Tibetan wool rugs, the artist now allows anyone to bring the love home.

Since Saraiva was building on some of his reoccurring themes, the cocktail selection also kept to the classics, with guests choosing between an Absolut Seabreeze or an Absolut Tonic.  All in all, the night had all the elements anyone could ask for: love, beautiful scenery, and amazing cocktails.
