A Perfect Day Two
If the first day of Coachella was marked by the excitement and the heat, the second would be defined by a soft breeze that cooled the air and set the tone for a relaxed day. Rather than a bursting rush of people the moment the gates opened, this morning, everyone slowly sauntered in after a long night. It was almost like a new festival entirely – perfect in different ways than the day before.
It was as if the cool wind reminded the crowd that everything was going to be okay, and that no matter what stage or tent they were at, they were going to be having the best time possible.
The Coachella state of mind had reached the full crowd.
The pinnacle of this feeling came during Pharrell’s set, which blew away the already high expectations. Having already brought up Nelly, Gwen Stefani, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and Diplo for duets, it was hard to image that his finale could have surpassed what came before it.
Capping off a day filled with high fives and hugs, Pharrell closed out day two by inviting any other performer that was nearby to join him on the stage as everyone sang along to his hit Happy. Keeping with the theme of the day – he proved yet again that everything is better with friends, and even better with more friends.
