Sónar Barcelona - One Thrilling Hideaway

Absolut joins Sónar Barcelona to serve up a dose of creative mystery. 

Sónar Barcelona is one of Europe’s biggest contemporary music events. And definitely one of the best. Every year the three-day festival serves up an ear-pleasing lineup of ‘advanced music and multimedia art’ dividing itself into three parts: Sónar+D, Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night. 

This year we decided to bring even more intrigue and entertainment to the Sónar revellers, by peppering a few extra special hidden features across the festival — a little dose of mystery always adds a lot of excitement. 

For Sónar+D, we teamed up with professor Matt Clark and his team at London’s forward-thinking Royal College of Art to create an immersive sensory experience with The Black Box. Using state-of-the-art technology The Black Box by Absolut set out to stimulate the mechanisms of perception (especially visual, sound, touch and temperature).

At Sónar by Day, we had the Absolut Avatar. In another Black Cube we created a device where Sonar-revellers could scan themselves and create their very own dancing avatar. 

And at Sónar by Night, things got turned up a notch, at the The Cube bar. The catch? The bartender was hidden.

Absolut Mule

Ingredients
2 Parts Absolut Vodka
1 Part Lime Juice
Ginger Beer
1 Wedge Lime

How to mix
Fill a chilled highball glass with ice cubes. Add Absolut Vodka and lime juice. Top up with ginger beer. Garnish with lime.

Absolut Sonar

Ingredients
1 Part Absolut Vodka
2 Parts Cranberry Juice 
1 Part Fresh Grapefruit Juice

How to mix
Pour all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with a lime wheel.

Absolut BCN

Ingredients
1½ Parts Absolut Vodka
1 Part Lemon Juice
¾ Part Simple Syrup
Soda Water
1 Wedge Lemon

How to mix
Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add Absolut Vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake and strain into a chilled highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top up with soda water. Garnish with lemon
