With so much hatred running rampant in our world, we love the idea of passing around joyful gifts to strangers.

Mauril-O has come up with a great way to thank those who make her smile. Too bad they’re phasing out the Polaroid instant camera or this vision would be easily realized
(<a href="http://www.polaroid.com/ifilm/en/index.html">http://www.polaroid.com/ifilm/en/index.html</a>)

She could snap a shot of her smile and scribble a nice note on the bottom. Until all the film is gone, Mauril-O can give a gift that’ll keep on giving.

Who hasn’t sat through the insufferable sound of a person unwrapping candy in the theater?

Those days would be over if we come up with a mute machine. At the first crinkle, sniffle or crunch, you could silence the offender. And it would be useful if you’re having an argument and want to quiet your foe. It’s a great idea but we’re not sure how you could actually create a machine like that. Any suggestions?

If Camilo-Navarrete realizes his vision, we’d all be able to soar with the eagles or at least get off the ground. And he’s not alone.

This spring, Jeb Corliss, a U.S. BASE jumper is planning to throw himself out of a plane and fly to the Earth sans parachute in a wingsuit (<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/10/sports/othersports/10flying.html">http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/10/sports/othersports/10flying.html</a>)

For now, Jeb is keeping the details top secret, but maybe after he’s done the dirty work (hurling himself out of a plane to test the suit), Camilo can steal a few tips from Jeb’s playbook to come up with a way to turn his vision from a fantasy to a reality.

Less work, more chillaxin

You know what they say about all work and no play… it makes Jack a dull boy. Yet laborers worldwide are still logging 40+ hours a week. In the countries where people are toiling away the longest hours—South Korea and Japan—there’s even a term for death by work (Karoshi).

So Lizette-Morazzani’s vision of people having more fun, working fewer hours, and getting extra time to relax is a great idea. But how would we realize it? A global movement? Start a “work less” day? An instructional video or manual to show people how to be more productive in less time?

Perhaps the mandatory 35-hour workweek in France could serve as a model, but we’d need a plan consider realizing this vision.

For those of us who like to sing in the shower or hog the mike at karaoke, Kayes ABSOLUT WORLD vision is dreamy.

We could all make music and she wisely stipulates that there would be no judgments, no snippy Simon Cowell to shut you down. Microphones would be set up everywhere and whenever you wanted to bust a rhyme, you could. Since bringing out your inner songstress has been proven to ease stress and make people more optimistic, we think this vision is worth singing about.

What started as a doodle has turned into a dolphin. Last fall Ola Persson, a graphic designer in Stockholm who worked on our ABSOLUT WORLD campaign, was trying to stay awake in a meeting when he stumbled upon the idea to become a sea creature. He began sketching a dolphin on a piece of scrap paper. When it was his turn to offer an idea, he blurted out that he’d like to become a dolphin. And the rest is, as they say, history. He first built a website where he’s been charting his transformation (<a href="http://dolphintransform.blogspot.com">http://dolphintransform.blogspot.com</a>) and then he started building a dolphin suit. Eventually he’ll leap into a pool to see if his suit will pass among other dolphins but for now, you can learn more about Ola.

During the weekend we have received several comments on the ad published in Mexico. We acknowledge the reactions and debate and want to apologize for the concerns this ad caused. We are truly sorry and understand that the ad has offended several persons. This was not our intention. The ad has been withdrawn as of Friday April 4th and will not be used in the future.

In no way was the ad meant to offend or disparage, or advocate an altering of borders, lend support to any anti-American sentiment, or to reflect immigration issues.

To ensure that we avoid future similar mistakes, we are adjusting our internal advertising approval process for ads that are developed in local markets.

This is a genuine and sincere apology,

Welcome to my blog where I’ll keep track of the people who dreamed up an interesting way to finish this statement: “IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD…” There are no rules about what you want in an ABSOLUT WORLD. It can be a personal flight of fancy or maybe you long to make the world a better place. A comedian turns his fantasy into a video. A New York based web company makes your Spam come true. Take a look at their ideas and start working on one of your own. If your vision’s a winner, ABSOLUT will make it come true!

What is it about men who decide to go live in the woods? Henry David Thoreau wrote a literary classic about a pond in Massachusetts. And now Lloyd Alter, architect and writer for <a href="http://www.treehugger.com" target="_new">treehugger.com</a>, has come up with an amazing concept after spending eight weeks in a lakeside cabin in Ontario—furniture made from patterns that you can download, print out and build. Designers from all over the world contributed pieces that are interesting, environmentally friendly and created to your own specifications <a href="http://www.treehugger.com/absolut" target="_new">treehugger.com/absolut</a>
