We apologize

During the weekend we have received several comments on the ad published in Mexico. We acknowledge the reactions and debate and want to apologize for the concerns this ad caused. We are truly sorry and understand that the ad has offended several persons. This was not our intention. The ad has been withdrawn as of Friday April 4th and will not be used in the future.
In no way was the ad meant to offend or disparage, or advocate an altering of borders, lend support to any anti-American sentiment, or to reflect immigration issues.
To ensure that we avoid future similar mistakes, we are adjusting our internal advertising approval process for ads that are developed in local markets.

I am an American citizen, but I am Mexican and proud to be. I am ashamed now to be an American tied to these outlooks. I was born and raised in Southern California and I joined the military at 17. There is nothing any one of these bloggers can say that will take the hard work and sweat that the immigrants pour out to make them ashamed of who they are. You are obviously miserable with your own life. Vive Rie Ama!

Lupita, your name calling and clearly immature response demonstrates your inability to form a coherent thought on this issue. The borders of the world have changed hands time and time again. In order to live in the present, you have to deal with the reality the way it is. This ad was anti-American and your comments leave little doubt that you are too.
I will be drinking my vodka tonics with SKYY, a truly American brand. Get yourself educated so that you might enable yourself to hold an intelligent, fact-filled, discourse on the subject.

You act as though my father, grandfather, great-grandfather did not build and fight and die for this country. You act as though it's all been because of illegals. You know, they have farms and homes and lawns in Mexico, so stay down there and do that work. I mow my own lawn, clean my own pool....yes, I work 2 and periodically 3 jobs to live the lifestyle that I have. I am not lazy, and I used to drink Tecate and Dos Equis but now I am not only boycotting Absolut but I am boycotting every product from Mexico!

Calling people rednecks is predjudice. I am not a racist, I am an Americanist! There is a huge difference. Why is it that when you lose every intelligent argument, you throw out the word racist? 85% of all illegals in the U.S. are of Hispanic decent and most are Mexican. That is a fact. So now we throw out facts because it points to one group? If we bordered North Korea then we would probably be talking about illegal Koreans. If we bordered Serbia or Khasikstan, then that's probably who we would be talking about. But geographically we border Mexico and that is where the illegals come from....FACT! This is not based on some racist paranoia. If Mexico allowed it's citizens more of an opportunity to share in the great wealth in natural resources that Mexico has or if you had your own revolution, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But it is so easy to blame the big bad U.S. for all of your troubles because then there is no accountability in your oh so corrupt country. If the U.S. is so bad, then quit coming here and then we wouldn't be having this discussion.
