IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD I COULD GIVZE MYSELF A HIGH-FIVE
There’s one word that came to mind when I stumbled upon Marko-Bon’s vision: brilliant. Talk about a detailed plan… this guy’s even figured out where he wants to have his high-five machine manufactured. We love the explanation for how he will use his handy-dandy machine: “Whenever I write a solid e-mail or do something nifty here in my office, I’ll be able to celebrate properly.” The only thing we’re missing is a blueprint for how this machine would be constructed. The illustrated hand-on–the wall looks like it would be a painful way to celebrate.

What’s in a name?

IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD EVERYONE WOULD HAVE COOL NAMES
We’re sort of lukewarm on Visionary Brittany-Nicole’s idea. For starters, who would determine if a name’s “cool” or “uncool?” While one person may love the name Dwezil, another may prefer John. And with the recent parade of celebrity spawn with odd names, we’re thinking maybe the world has enough Apples and Kyds for the time being. But if cool means unpopular, you can check out the most common baby names in the U.S. here

IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD LEARNING ABOUT SHAKESPEARE WOULD BE SEXY
Remember the first time you read Shakespeare? If you’re like most of us, it was one of those mandatory assignments from a reading list and it was torture. But if you were lucky, you had a great teacher or even better, you got to see the works acted out. Even if the language was a little bit odd, you could recognize a good drama when you saw one. Imagine if the playwright’s works had been illustrated with pictures (hello, beast with two backs!). You couldn’t keep people from reading Shakespeare. Brilliant idea from Visionary Cosimo-Mariano and very, very doable. What do you think?

IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD EVERYBODY CAN FLY
Lucky Superman. That dude had no idea how much the world would envy his ability to fly. Two visionaries have expressed a wish to have his supernatural gift. Visionary “Le_Q” imagines a world where s/he could avoid traffic jams and climbing steps. Instead s/he would just fly over all these inconveniences. Meanwhile Visionary Camilo-Navarrete (IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD ALL THE PEOPLE CAN FLY) also wants to take to the friendly skies. When there’s a will, there’s a way?

Recycle a bicycle (and everything else!)

IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD RECYCLING BINS ARE BIGGER THAN TRASH CANS.
Landfills are overflowing but the urge to consume goes on unabated. Mountains of trash continue to grow. This visionary wishes for a better world with more recycling—so trash cans shrink and recycling bins get bigger. He hints at a positive plan—incentives for recycling—but we need more specifics. Even with an action plan it will take some time to get the world to start consuming and buying less. That little trick may take some effort so the sooner Pouwerkerk can get into the specifics, the better off we’ll all be and the greater chance we’d have of realizing this vision.
