Party Like a DJ
While a single gig does not generally sum up an entire experience, location is important. We spoke to jet setting DJs Jillionaire and Makj, on their favorite spots to party both on the road and close to home. Whether it be somewhere in Asia or a private room in NYC, you’ll be sure to say whoa, this club is amazing.
Where is your favorite international venue?
There’s a club in Istanbul that sits on the river Bosporus below the bridge that connects Asia and Europe... Dubai is corny but a lot of the clubs there are amazing
Tell us about local spots you keep going back to?
In New York, I’ve been to tons of places over the years but I’d have to say the little upstairs room at No 8 always goes off whenever I have a party there. Jaguar Room at Output has a killer sound system and great vibes.. Lit Lounge is still my favorite dive bar on the Lower East Side. Back in Trinidad I’m as not familiar with what’s happening club-wise, but pop into Frankie’s or any of the little bars on Ariapita Avenue for a cold beer and some ‘old talk’.
Personally, I’m more into energy and acoustics than actual aesthetic

Favorite international venue...
Zouk, in Singapore, I played both of their clubs while I was on my Asia tour but this one in particular blew me away. I can’t wait to go back.
When you’re close to home...
Avalon in Hollywood, CA. I’ve opened for other artists but this I recently headlined - it was such an honor to headline somewhere with so much history.
