Our Carriers

Our distillery and bottling plants, main suppliers and partners are all located in southern Sweden. We are working closely together to reduce our CO2 emissions from local transportation by 50 percent by 2020 – and we are well on our way. In 2013, a quarter of the fuel used by our wheat suppliers for transportation had to be biofuel. And in 2014, we built a biodiesel station at our distillery for the trucks that transport wheat stillage to local cows and pigs. About 40 percent of stillage transportation uses biofuel that is produced locally, and our goal is to switch all vehicles over in the next few years.

We respect our community. Only one of our delivery trucks at a time is allowed to be in the village of Åhus, reducing traffic-related disturbances and noise pollution. There is a parking area outside the village where other trucks can wait their turn.

From the port of Åhus, 75 percent of all Absolut Vodka bottles are shipped directly to other ports around the world. In 2007, we showed our commitment to cleaner water by joining the Clean Shipping Index, which puts pressure on ship owners to report on and reduce their emissions and chemical use.
