The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place here, but how much do you know about the phenomenal Palm Springs?

 

Coachella has become one of the world's most famous festivals, in no small part thanks to its location. With blue skies, scorching heat, striking architecture and surrounded by arid landscape; Palm Springs could give Luke Skywalker's home planet, Tattooine, a run for its money.

What sets the two apart, through is the abundance of glittering qualities this desert resort city possesses - that and the fact that the earthly city has only one sun, rather than two. Obviously.

Located within the Coachella Valley in Riverside County, California, Palm Springs boasts a sun-soaked and star-studded history. A favourite among old Hollywood legends – the Rat Pack, Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe all loved to hang out here - the city has experienced a revival in recent years.

Nowadays, hipsters and cool kids flock there to drink cocktails, shop at vintage fairs, stroll down palm tree-lined streets, swim under the night sky and, of course, take part in all the cool events that go on in this city. From the International Film Festival, Modernism Week and Coachella, to unique museums and pool parties, vibrant doesn't even begin to cover it...
