DIY Oil lamp

We believe that every small idea counts in making our green footprint on the planet a little mor green. Even it it is as easy as just prolonging the life of one bottle. Here is some inspirational hacks anyone could make at home.

What you need:

1 x 1L bottles
1 x Glass Rit
1 x Vice (optional)
Glass silicone
Lamp oil
Spray paint
Wick + holder
Drill
Matchbox

Cut through the bottle. To do this mount a glasrits on a vice and turn the bottle 360 degrees. Then slowly pour boiling water on the rits and after pour ice cold water. Repeat this procedure until the cut is completely through the glass. Hone the edges of the bottle.

Mask the surface with scotch tape. Spray paint the inside of the bottle with a color of your like. Remove the scotch tape.

Put glas silicon on the edges of one of the two pieces of bottle and then put them together. Make sure it’s densely connected.

Drill a hole in the cork for the wick holder then mount the wick holder.

Take the wick and put it through the wick holder. Fill it the bottom with lamp oil. Enjoy your new light source!
