How it works

How it works

This June Absolut Creative Space is visiting Bulgaria for a week-long festival on sustainable creativity. Placed in the center of Sofia, Creative Space will bring together creative voices from the world of design, nightlife, art, mixology, food, technology and advertising and open a discussion on how we can make the world more fun, eco-friendly and thoughtful.

Among the guests will be the design mavericks from SNASK, a well-known colleague and friend Marko Edfelt, the world’s first plastic fishing company Plastic Whale, eating designer Marije Vogelzang, one of the masterminds behind the Artesian – Simone Caporale, cocktail wizard Monica Berg and the mighty night mayor of Amsterdam – Mirik Milan. The program will include local and international speakers that have all contributed to finding creative solutions for a better tomorrow.

Beyond that, Absolut Creative Space will offer numerous and ongoing workshops hosted by lectors and special guests, two full on high energy events and daily mixology sessions with the most renowned local bartenders.

From zine hubs to lectures with local officials, Absolut Creative Space will mix our mission to safeguard the environment with our faith in the total power of creativity. Something awesome this way comes.

At The Absolut Company we believe in the idea of transforming today for a better tomorrow. Re-purposing instead of wasting and rethinking instead of repeating.

We have done a lot, and we know we can do more.

That’s why we have built the Creative Space; to supply the tools necessary for young creative people to inspire us and other companies to dare to transform.

The Creative Space is a place for you or anyone else to realize ideas. It is an inspiring environment with the tools needed to transform your ideas from mere thoughts to physical and digital products or solutions. You will also be able to pick the brains of other intelligent people working in the creative space simultaneously with you.

To get access to the space you apply with an idea you have that you believe will transform the world into something a little bit better. You can come here on your own or as a team of maximum four people.

Creative Space Hackathon

We will start the 12th of June with a three day hackathon, focusing on improving The Absolut Company's footprint. During the hackathon inspirational leaders and selected TAC experts are present to brief and inspire. During this hack you will explore the following briefs;

Reduce / Eco-Design

40% of the Absolut bottle is made of recycled glass, we have reduced our glass weight and chosen colours and production techniques which minimize the required energy input during the glass production. But, how can we eliminate or reduce packaging material and create even more sustainable products or solutions?

Reduce/Refill

In the future, we need not only improve existing solutions but look into new sustainable innovation. All Absolut Vodka is made in one place to ensure product quality but can we be flexible in other contexts?

  • Can we give the bottle a second life, in another context that is relevant to the brand?
  • How could we create products or systems that allow consumers to refill the Absolut bottle?
  • What if we would would have multiple solutions to our products, it could be used as a drink and…

Recycle

It is often difficult to change a whole system and consumer behavior over night, which means that several initiatives need to be launched and recognized before reaching the final goal, a new recycle system.

  • Recycling systems
  • Own recycling stations
  • Behaviour & information

At the end the ideas will be assessed by a jury with the goal of finding a winning idea so good that it can be put into actual production at The Absolut Company’s choice. If you are selected to participate in the Hackathon you will receive a reimbursement for your time and a chance to win with your idea.
