Both ABSOLUT® and the city of Los Angeles share environmentally-forward ideals. And to support this great city in its preservation of the environment, ABSOLUT® is donating $250,000 from the sale of ABSOLUT® Los Angeles to Green Way LA.

Green Way LA is an organization dedicated to restoring nature’s services while providing for the health and welfare of the community. The ABSOLUT® donation will be used towards the “Green Streets” initiative. By modifying streets, curbs, and sidewalks, and by planting appropriate trees and other vegetation, rainwater and other polluted urban runoff is naturally cleaned before otherwise flowing unfiltered into the Pacific Ocean.

The groundbreaking of the ABSOLUT® Green Street will take place in the fall of 2008, and is expected to cleanse over 10 million gallons of water over the next 10 years

Leveraging this success to develop a stream of sustainable private and public funding will allow this landmark project to be replicated. Converting 100 of the thousands of similar streets in Los Angeles would result in over 1 billion gallons of water to be cleaned and used to recharge the local water supply over the next 10 years.
