Each year, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival brings together music, art, fashion and pop-culture loving millennials together in an impressive display. Featuring some of Absolut's favorite things, it only makes sense that it would join in on the festival as well.
Continuing a tradition of partnering with artists to create unique Art Bar experiences that channel their creative vision, Absolut worked with the acclaimed artist Olafur Eliasson's Little Sun project to create an immersive experience that not only pairs incredible cocktails with the artist's creativity, but also brings attention to the great cause behind Little Sun.
Inside the Absolut Little Sun Art Bar, located right next to Coachella's mains stage, glow-in-the-dark-walls illuminate the room with the Little Sun design, as the drawings on the ceiling tell the story of how Little Sun is helping bring light to the 1.6 billion people without electricity. At the bar itself, the bartenders were spared having to shake out hundreds of cocktails one after another through an innovative system that allows them to pour handcrafted cocktails directly from a tap – all that is needed was a splash of bitters, and a bit of garnish.
But the most fun part of the art bar was the photo booth, where anyone can pick up one of the solar powered Little Sun lamps to light-write whatever design they can imagine in a pitch black room. A long-exposure snap of the camera results in a finished picture of bright swirling lights.
With a burning sun hovering over the desert, the Absolut Little Sun Art Bar is the perfect refuge to have a proper cocktail, and interact with this amazing project.
